VGLOT Release Notes
VGLOT 0.4.1 introduces progressive first-minute captions, so you can read the first part while the rest prepares.
Version 0.4.1 — Upcoming
. Available after rollout.
Read the first captions while the rest prepares
When preparing minute one, VGLOT can show captions for its first 15 seconds before the remaining captions are ready. The transcript panel adds the rest as processing completes. Other minutes keep their existing preparation flow.
Keep your place when processing needs a retry
If the remainder fails, loaded captions stay available. Retry resumes saved work. The two parts still count as a single minute interval toward your allowance.
The same playback controls and privacy
Pause, seek, Stop, private caption reuse, language choices and permissions remain unchanged. Processing time varies; this update does not add live speech recognition or guarantee instant captions.
Version 0.4.0
VGLOT was previously named CaptionPlus. Earlier development history may retain that name.
Start Free
Connect with Google and use 30 caption minutes per UTC calendar month, shared with the web workspace. Standard and Premium remain available for more time. Ready captions remain reusable after the allowance is exhausted.
Start at the part you want to watch
The extension prepares 60-second intervals around the playback position and can prefetch one following interval while playing. Pause stops new prefetch; Stop prevents new requests. Already accepted work may finish. Hiding the panel does not stop processing. This is prerecorded audio processing, not live speech recognition.
More language choices
Choose from 61 explicit Source options plus Auto detect and 109 Target options in the extension. An explicit Source guides recognition; Auto detects only supported languages. The web workspace’s language list is unchanged.
A clearer extension interface
The popup, account connection and transcript panel have updated layouts. Adjust original and translated text appearance, hide original captions, and revisit moments using timestamps.
Private reuse, accurate quota
Prepared intervals are cached for your account, video and exact Source/Target pair. Newly completed intervals count toward quota, including completed prefetch and silent intervals. A shorter final interval rounds up to one minute; failed processing is refunded. Extension-only intervals do not create partial Library entries; web processing still saves complete videos.
