A direct explanation of what moves through VGLOT, what stays on your device, and what remains under your control.

Follow:

What VGLOT processes

Connect your Knoveya account, then press Start on a public YouTube watch page. VGLOT reuses a prepared transcript for your selected language pair or prepares the current 60-second interval before displaying bilingual captions that follow playback. The extension does not capture tab audio or request microphone access.

What Knoveya receives

Starting a new language pair sends the selected public YouTube video and language choices to Knoveya. The server temporarily processes its audio with Deepgram and sends transcript text to Gemini for translation. Extension intervals are cached privately for your account, video and exact language pair. Complete videos processed on the web are saved in your Library. Temporary audio files are deleted after processing; Knoveya does not keep raw audio in your Library.

What stays on your device

Language preferences, panel appearance settings and account connection tokens are kept in local extension storage. The displayed transcript stays in the page for the current session; prepared extension intervals are cached privately on the server.

Previously collected Early Access details

If you previously submitted the Early Access form, Knoveya retains your email and any optional role, viewing interest, language pair, viewing frequency, or product request you provide. Campaign attribution from the landing URL may also be stored so we can understand how people found VGLOT. We use these details only to manage access, share meaningful launch updates, and improve the product. This information is separate from caption processing and does not include tab audio or transcript data.

Landing page analytics

The VGLOT landing page uses Google Analytics only after you choose Accept analytics. Reject keeps it off; your browser choice lasts 180 days and Cookie preferences in the footer lets you change it. Public guides retain their existing analytics when configured to measure visits and predefined interactions such as scroll depth, calls to action and checkout intent. A Store click is not a confirmed installation. Analytics events never include form values, captions, audio, extension identifiers, credentials, or payment details.

Release updates

If you subscribe, we store your normalized email, signup time and consent version for VGLOT release updates. Registration is currently collection-only: no confirmation or update emails are sent, and email ownership is unverified. This list is separate from Folderloom and legacy Early Access. To request removal, contact [email protected]. Future sending and unsubscribe behavior require a separate rollout.

Website preferences

Analytics preferences are stored in your browser for 180 days. Dismissing or completing the release updates popup suppresses automatic opening for 30 days. Blocked browser storage keeps analytics off until you explicitly accept on the current page. The YouTube demo and checkout work independently of this landing-page analytics choice. Withdrawing consent stops future landing events; already sent requests cannot be recalled and existing Google cookies are not removed. Public guides keep their existing analytics behavior.

Third-party processing

Deepgram processes audio for transcription and Google Gemini processes transcript text for translation. Extension processing temporarily uses 60-second audio intervals; web processing uses the complete public YouTube video. Their handling is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies.

Your control

Processing begins only after Start. Stop, closing the tab or switching videos stops new interval requests. Accepted work may finish and be cached. Hiding the panel does not stop processing. Extension-only intervals do not create partial Library entries. You can remove videos from the Library. Uninstalling the extension removes local extension data and does not delete Library transcripts.
